TCI C0857 1,2,3,4-Cyclopentanetetracarboxylic Dianhydride (CAS 6053-68-5) is an alicyclic dianhydride monomer used in the preparation of high-performance polymers. Its non-aromatic cyclopentane backbone helps suppress charge-transfer complex formation, making it a preferred building block for colorless and optically transparent polyimide films. The reactive anhydride groups readily condense with diamines to form poly(amic acid) intermediates that are subsequently imidized, and they may also serve as curing agents in epoxy systems. Available in 5g and 25g laboratory packs, the material should be kept tightly sealed and protected from moisture to preserve anhydride integrity.
