TCI C0896 Vinyl n-Octanoate (CAS 818-44-0) is a medium-chain vinyl ester stabilised with MEHQ, supplied as a versatile non-heterocyclic building block. It is widely used as an irreversible acyl donor in lipase-catalysed transesterification, where the vinyl alcohol by-product tautomerises and drives the reaction forward. The same vinyl group also allows radical polymerisation and copolymerisation for polymer research.
