TCI C0969 5-Chlorouracil (CAS 1820-81-1) is a halogenated pyrimidine base in which a chlorine atom occupies the 5-position of the uracil ring. It is widely used as a heterocyclic building block for modified nucleosides and nucleotides, and as a tool for studying halogenated bases in nucleic acid chemistry. The ring chlorine also enables further substitution and cross-coupling toward new pyrimidine derivatives.
