The Ossila UV Ozone Cleaner is a benchtop instrument for removing organic contamination from substrates and samples. Its UV lamps emit at 185 nm and 254 nm to produce ozone, which breaks surface contaminants down into volatile compounds that evaporate, leaving near-atomically clean surfaces without damaging the sample.

The drawer tray offers a 153 mm (6") diameter cleaning area and accepts samples up to 12 mm (0.47") high, so several samples, microscope slides, diced substrates, petri dishes or AFM tips can be treated in one run. Exposure is digitally set from 1 second to 60 minutes, and a 4.3" colour LCD with tactile buttons shows temperature readings for the tray, lamp and electronics so delicate samples are kept from overheating.

Safety measures include a hardware drawer interlock that keeps the lamps off while the tray is open, active lamp cooling and a software thermal cutoff. The unit carries the CE mark and meets BS EN 61010-1:2010. The system weighs 5.25 kg and accepts 110 V – 240 V input, with US, EU, UK and AU variants.

The cleaner has no integrated ozone filtration system and must be operated in a working fume hood. Because the system runs at high voltage, UV bulb replacement should be carried out by the manufacturer rather than by the user, as incorrect reassembly can be dangerous.
