Description
TCI B6533 supplies 1,3-butadiene (CAS 106-99-0) as a solution in N,N-dimethylformamide, at approximately 5% (about 0.9 mol/L) as stated by the manufacturer. The polar aprotic solvent makes this version well suited to palladium-, nickel- and copper-catalysed transformations where inorganic bases and metal complexes must remain in solution, such as butadiene telomerisation. Dispensing the diene by volume removes the need for gas-handling apparatus and improves reproducibility between runs. Butadiene is highly flammable and carcinogenic and DMF poses reproductive hazards, so use in a fume hood with full reference to the official SDS; AMI Scientific offers 100 mL and 500 mL sizes in original TCI packaging.
