Description

TCI B6562 is 12H-benzo[b]phenothiazine, an extended phenothiazine scaffold in which an additional benzene ring is fused onto the classic sulfur- and nitrogen-bridged tricyclic core. Phenothiazine derivatives are well known as strong electron donors and as foundational structures in dye chemistry, and the extended conjugation here shifts their optical behaviour. The free N–H position offers a convenient handle for alkylation or arylation, allowing solubility and electronic properties to be tuned.
