Description
TCI B6568 is barium chromate (BaCrO₄), a bright yellow inorganic solid that is notably poorly soluble in water. This low solubility makes it a classic subject for precipitation and solubility-equilibrium work, while its hexavalent chromium content gives it oxidising character useful in certain solid-state and inorganic syntheses. It must be treated with serious caution: it combines toxic barium with carcinogenic hexavalent chromium, so all handling belongs in a fume hood with full personal protective equipment and dust control.
