Description
TCI B6801 (CAS 3035177-77-3) is N,N'-bis(2-phenyl-1-naphthyl)-1,2-benzenediamine, an aromatic diamine bearing two highly bulky naphthyl substituents. Its ortho-phenylenediamine core is well suited to cyclisation toward benzimidazolium salts and, in turn, N-heterocyclic carbene ligands. The bulky aryl walls allow chemists to tune the steric environment around a metal centre in organometallic catalyst design. AMI Scientific offers this TCI reagent in 250 mg and 1 g pack sizes; store it cool, dark, and tightly closed, as aromatic diamines may darken on air exposure.
