Description
TCI B6873 (CAS 1102-92-7) is 4,4'-(perfluoropropane-2,2-diyl)dibenzoyl chloride, a difunctional acid chloride monomer containing the hexafluoroisopropylidene ("6F") linkage. Polycondensation with diamines or bisphenols gives fluorinated aromatic polyamides and polyesters that are widely studied for their solubility and membrane behaviour. Because acid chlorides react readily with moisture and liberate hydrogen chloride, dry glassware and an inert atmosphere are strongly recommended. TCI supplies this monomer in 5 g and 25 g pack sizes; always review the Safety Data Sheet before handling.
