TCI C0325 Sodium Cholate (CAS 361-09-1) is the sodium salt of cholic acid and functions as a water-soluble, naturally derived anionic surfactant. It is routinely used to solubilise membrane proteins, prepare liposomes and proteoliposomes, and disperse nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes in aqueous media. In polymer and materials work it acts as an additive that modifies interfacial properties and dispersion stability. Supplied by Tokyo Chemical Industry in 25 g, 100 g, and 500 g packs, it should be kept tightly closed in a cool, dry place to prevent caking.
