4-Chlorocatechol (TCI C0568, CAS 2138-22-9) is a chlorinated ortho-diphenol used both as a synthetic building block and as a reference compound in biodegradation research. Its adjacent hydroxyl groups make it a useful chelating scaffold and a model substrate for catechol dioxygenase studies.
