TCI C0752 N-Carbobenzoxy-DL-norvaline is the racemic, Cbz-protected form of the non-proteinogenic amino acid norvaline. The benzyloxycarbonyl group protects the amino function during amide coupling and can later be removed by catalytic hydrogenolysis. Its straight-chain propyl side chain provides a useful hydrophobic alternative to branched valine in structure-activity studies. AMI Scientific offers this TCI product in 5 g and 25 g pack sizes for peptide chemistry laboratories.
