TCI C0760 N-Carbobenzoxy-DL-norleucine is the racemic, Cbz-protected form of norleucine, a straight-chain isomer of leucine. Because norleucine is absent from natural proteins, its derivatives are frequently used in amino acid analysis and structure-activity comparisons. The benzyloxycarbonyl group allows direct use in solution-phase peptide synthesis and is removable by catalytic hydrogenolysis.
