TCI C0832 4-Chlorophenoxyacetyl Chloride (CAS 4122-68-3) is a reactive aromatic acyl chloride supplied in 25 g and 100 g packs. It rapidly acylates amines, alcohols, and phenols to install the 4-chlorophenoxyacetyl motif, a structural fragment frequently encountered in agrochemical intermediates. The reagent is also useful for analytical derivatisation of hydroxyl- and amino-containing analytes and for Friedel–Crafts acylation of suitable aromatic substrates. Because it hydrolyses on contact with moisture and releases corrosive hydrogen chloride, handle it with dry glassware in a fume hood and store it tightly closed under moisture-free conditions.
