TCI C1124 N-Carbobenzoxyoxysuccinimide (Z-OSu, CAS 13139-17-8) is an activated succinimidyl ester used to install the carbobenzyloxy (Cbz) protecting group on amines. As a solid reagent it offers easier weighing and cleaner reaction profiles than benzyl chloroformate, with N-hydroxysuccinimide as the readily removed by-product. It is widely applied in peptide synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology where selective N-terminal protection and orthogonal deprotection by hydrogenolysis are required.
