TCI C1306 4-Chlorophenacyl Chloride is a highly electrophilic α-haloketone widely used in heterocyclic synthesis. It reacts with thioamides and thioureas in Hantzsch thiazole formation and also participates in imidazole and oxazole ring construction. In analytical work it serves as a derivatising reagent that converts carboxylic acids into UV-detectable phenacyl esters.
