Collection: Quinolinol Ligands

Quinolinol Ligands — includes bromo-, amino-, or methyl-substituted 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine) derivatives that act as oxygen-nitrogen bidentate ligands in forming luminescent metal complexes. The aromatic framework allows structural modification to tune the electronic and optical properties of the resulting complexes.

Ligands such as 8-Quinolinol and 2-Methyl-8-quinolinol are used to form aluminum or other transition metal complexes that serve as light-emitting layers in organic electroluminescent devices. Derivatives such as 5-Bromo-8-hydroxyquinoline and 8-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde are used by coordination chemistry researchers as starting points for further modification to design fluorescence sensors for metals or multifunctional ligands.

Example products in this collection: TCI B3324 1198-14-7 5-Bromo-8-hydroxyquinoline, TCI C0645 130-16-5 5-Chloro-8-hydroxyquinoline, TCI A1005 21302-43-2 5-Amino-8-hydroxyquinoline Dihydrochloride, TCI D0208 521-74-4 5,7-Dibromo-8-hydroxyquinoline, TCI R0311 148-24-3 8-Quinolinol (HPMC encapsulated), TCI D3819 15450-76-7 2,8-Dihydroxyquinoline, TCI Q0017 134-31-6 8-Quinolinol Sulfate Monohydrate, TCI F0038 387-97-3 5-Fluoro-8-quinolinol.

Note the salt or free-base forms (dihydrochloride, sulfate monohydrate) as well as the position of substituents on the quinoline ring, which affect solubility and coordination strength toward metal ions. All products are genuine Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan products, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on each item's page.
