These Ossila substrates are 25 mm x 25 mm squares of polished soda lime float glass, 1.1 mm thick, carrying a patterned coating of fully oxidized indium tin oxide (ITO). They are intended for fast prototyping of OLED and photovoltaic (PV) devices, and this pack contains 100 pieces.
The larger square format is aimed at researchers moving towards bigger active areas. Used together with Ossila deposition masks, each substrate can hold four pixels of 48 mm2 (6 mm x 8 mm) each, or one large pixel of 255 mm2 (15 mm x 17 mm).
The ITO layer is 100 nm ± 20 nm thick with a sheet resistance of 20 Ω / square. Surfaces are very smooth: AFM measurements give a glass roughness below 1 nm RMS and an ITO roughness of 1.8 nm RMS. The substrates belong to Ossila's 25 mm x 25 mm PV/OLED System.
- Rapid prototyping of OLED devices on pre-patterned ITO electrodes.
- Fabrication of organic photovoltaic (OPV) test cells.
- Scaling up device active areas to a single 255 mm2 pixel.
- Producing four 48 mm2 pixels per substrate when combined with matching deposition masks.
