This measurement aperture mask is a thin stainless steel plate that sits over 25mm square patterned ITO substrates to define exactly how much of a device is illuminated or measured. It is intended for use with Ossila's 25mm square ITO substrates (S2006C1) and forms part of the company's prototyping platform for photovoltaic devices.

The openings are produced by electrochemical etching, giving a well-defined area for solar cell illumination or OLED luminance measurements. This avoids overstating or understating device performance when results are reported.

Two layouts are offered. The four-pixel version (E2002A1) has four openings of 7.4mm x 5.4mm (39.96mm 2) aligned with the centre of each pixel, while the single-pixel version (E2002B1) has one 16.4mm x 14.4mm (236.16mm 2) opening. In both cases a 0.6mm margin is left between the aperture edge and the pixel edge, which helps limit edge effects during characterisation.
