The Ossila 50mm Linear Stage (G2010E1) is a compact motorised positioning stage offering 50 mm of travel for research setups where bench space is tight. Motor, controller and stage are combined in a single unit, and drive comes from a C7 precision ball screw running on dual linear rails, giving a maximum speed of 15 mm/s with backlash and repeatability below 20 μm and 40 μm respectively.
Its modular body lets several stages be stacked directly for multi-axis motion without extra adapters. Each unit is calibrated to ISO 230-2:2014 using a traceable calibration system and ships with a test report, power supply and USB cable.
Control is handled through the free Ossila Motion Control Console, which can be installed on any number of PCs. Over a USB connection you can home the stage, move to absolute positions or by relative distances, and set speed. Multiple connected stages are detected automatically and run from one window, and a serial command library is available for direct control.
- Adding precise linear motion to experiments where only limited space is available.
- Building multi-axis XY or XYZ positioning systems by stacking several stages.
- Automated sample positioning controlled from a PC over USB.
- Custom motion routines written with the serial command library.
