The Ossila Adjustable Slit (G3004A1) is a manual slit assembly for monochromators, spectrophotometers and other spectroscopy setups. It lets you set the slit width to find the right trade-off between measurement sensitivity and spectral resolution.
Slit width can be varied from 50 μm up to 6 mm with a resolution of up to 10 μm, while the slit height is fixed at 10 mm. Adjustment is made with micrometer gauges, and the gauge reading corresponds one-to-one with the actual slit width, so settings are straightforward to read and repeat.
The unit measures 45mm x 75mm x 14mm and mounts onto an existing optical setup with four M6 screws. Placed at the entrance or exit of a monochromator or spectrophotometer, it controls how much light passes through, helping to raise signal intensity, cut stray light or sharpen spectral resolution.
- Setting the entrance or exit slit width of a monochromator.
- Controlling light input or output on a spectrophotometer.
- Increasing signal intensity in low-light spectroscopy measurements.
- Reducing stray light reaching the detector.
- Improving spectral resolution by narrowing the slit.
