The Ossila C2016B1 is an electrochemical cell kit built around a 50 ml three-electrode glass cell fitted with a Luggin capillary (Luggin probe) for the reference electrode. This version pairs the cell with a non-aqueous Ag/Ag+ reference electrode, a platinum disc working electrode and a platinum wire counter electrode.
The curved Luggin capillary is a small electrolyte-filled tube that holds the reference electrode and brings its bridge close to the working electrode. Shortening this gap reduces uncompensated solution resistance, so potential readings between working and reference electrodes are more accurate. Its salt bridge tip lets ions pass while keeping the reference solution apart from the bulk electrolyte.
The cell has a screw-fit PTFE lid with POM feedthroughs offering three electrode inlets, a detachable gas bubbler inlet, a gas outlet and a moveable Luggin pocket bridge. The gas inlet includes a bubble filter that prevents gas shock or bubbling when inert gas is introduced. Spare stoppers, O-rings, PTFE tubing and tape are supplied.
- Three-electrode electrochemical measurements requiring accurate working-to-reference potential control.
- Experiments in non-aqueous electrolytes using an Ag/Ag+ reference electrode.
- Measurements under inert gas purging via the filtered gas bubbler inlet.

The curved salt bridge tip of the Luggin capillary may deteriorate in strongly acidic or basic electrolytes; in such conditions, use the reference electrode directly without the Luggin capillary.
