The Ossila Spin Coater Advanced (L2001B2) is a compact, vacuum-free benchtop instrument for depositing uniform thin films. Because it needs no vacuum line, it runs from a single mains socket and fits on a lab bench, in a fume hood or inside a glove box. Substrates are held flat on a smart chuck design, so even thin or flexible substrates coat without warping while excess solution drains away.

The Advanced model spins from 500 to 10,000 rpm with speed stability better than 0.25% error, and gives control of acceleration (up to 4000 rpm/s) and deceleration (up to 700 rpm/s). Spin times run from 1 to 3,600 sec, supporting slower solvent evaporation, multilayer coatings and graded film properties.

For shared labs, the controller stores 10 user profiles, each holding 15 programs of up to 50 steps. The multi-substrate chuck fits 20 x 15 mm, 25 x 25 mm, 50 x 50 mm and 75 x 25 mm substrates, and custom chucks can be made for other sizes. A built-in spirit level, adjustable feet and a magnetic door safety switch complete the design.
