The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator is a motorised coating system that drives your chosen applicator across the substrate at a programmed, constant speed. This configuration combines the vacuum stage with the Ossila Diaphragm Vacuum Pump, making it well suited to holding flexible or foil substrates flat while they are coated.
Speed can be set anywhere from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, so the motion can be matched to the applicator and the viscosity of the solution for defect-free films. The system accepts Mayer bars, blade coaters, gap applicators and Sheen, Baker or Bird applicators, covering coating widths up to 225 mm over a 290 mm (A4) travel length.
The anodized aluminum vacuum stage has 0.8 mm holes on a square grid with 7.75 mm spacing, letting you define the vacuum area to fit the sample. The pump reaches a maximum vacuum of 330 mbar at up to 7 L/min. A quick-lock magnetic design allows the stage and drip tray to be removed for cleaning between coatings.
