The Ossila Automatic Film Applicator (glass stage version) is a motorised coating system that drives your chosen applicator across a substrate at a programmed speed. It works with Mayer bars, blade coaters and gap applicators as well as Sheen, Baker and Bird applicators, letting one instrument cover several coating techniques.
Stage speed can be set anywhere from 0.05 mm.s -1 to 250 mm.s -1 in 0.01 mm.s -1 steps, so the movement can be matched to the applicator and to the viscosity of the solution. Smooth, continuous travel helps produce uniform films without defects, and programmed speeds make coatings repeatable. The system handles coating widths up to 225 mm over a 290 mm (A4) travel length.
This version uses an 8 mm toughened glass stage printed with a grid pattern for quick sample alignment and easy cleaning. A quick-lock magnetic design lets the stage and drip tray be removed and refitted rapidly between coatings. The unit runs from DC 24 V, 2 A via a 100 – 240 V 50/60 Hz adapter, and is supplied with the applicator and power supply.

The glass stage and drip tray can be detached via the quick-lock magnet so excess solution can be cleaned off between coatings.
