The Ossila L3009B2 is a manual adjustable film applicator in hard-anodized 7075 aluminium with a 100 mm coating width. It is designed for blade coating large-area wet films, combining a solution reservoir, a height-adjustable blade and micrometer gauges in one instrument.
The gap between blade and substrate can be set anywhere from 0 mm to 10 mm. On the manual version, the analog micrometer heads read in 10 µm steps with an accuracy of 4 µm, and the blade is calibrated to the gauge zero position for repeatable setup. A rounded tungsten carbide tip resists wear over long use. The gap slot is shaped to guide solution into the gap, while an integrated slurry spreader keeps the slurry inside the applicator and spreads it across the full width.
The anodized surface is abrasion resistant and chemically resistant to many coating solutions. The applicator can be pushed by hand or mounted on the Ossila Automatic Film Applicator for consistent coating speed.
