The Ossila Adjustable Film Applicator L3009D2 is a blade coating tool for producing uniform wet films over large areas. This version combines a hard-anodized 7075 aluminium body, a 100 mm coating width and digital micrometer readout, so a single instrument can deliver a broad range of film thicknesses.
The blade gap can be set anywhere from 0 mm to 10 mm. The digital micrometer heads read to 1 µm with an accuracy of 3 µm, and the blade is calibrated to the gauge zero position for repeatable setups. A rounded tungsten carbide tip resists wear, while the shaped gap slot guides solution into the gap and an integrated slurry spreader keeps material inside the applicator and spreads it across the full width.
The anodized surface offers chemical and abrasion resistance for repeated use with many coating solutions. The applicator works for hand coating or can be paired with the Ossila Automatic Film Applicator for consistent coating speed. Stainless steel versions, a 200 mm width and custom widths from 50 mm are also offered.
