The Ossila Doctor Blade Coater is an automatic film applicator for producing uniform thin films over large areas. This version pairs a 200 mm wide adjustable applicator with a glass stage made of 8 mm toughened glass carrying a printed grid pattern.
The 304 stainless steel applicator uses digital micrometer gauges with 1 µm resolution, letting you set the gap height anywhere from 0 to 10 mm. The blade is calibrated to the zero position of the gauge, which improves reproducibility from run to run. Coating speed is set in the integrated software between 0.05 mm.s-1 and 250 mm.s-1 in 0.01 mm.s-1 steps, so the process can be matched to a wide range of solution viscosities.
With a maximum stage travel of 290 mm, the coater supports scaling up coating processes. A quick lock design simplifies cleaning of the stage and drip tray between coatings, and the system also works with Mayer bars, Sheen applicators and Bird applicators, sold separately.
