The Ossila Spray Coater is a benchtop spray coating system for preparing thin films and optimizing coating processes before moving to larger, automated production. It ships with two interchangeable spray heads, an ultrasonic head and a gas atomizing head, so a variety of solution types can be handled, and spray pattern and droplet size can be tuned by adjusting gas and fluid pressure.
Stage speed is programmable from 0.05 mm.s -1 up to 250 mm.s -1, giving controlled, repeatable movement across samples up to 200 mm x 180 mm. Spray heads can be positioned manually along the vertical and horizontal axes, and several heads can be mounted side by side on the gantry to study overlap and achieve wide, uniform coverage. A hard anodized aluminum heated stage reaching 100 °C helps control drying and reduce film defects.
The system suits researchers moving beyond small-area methods such as spin coating, and it accommodates large-area, flexible and textured substrates. Fluids can be pressure driven or delivered in syphon mode using the included pneumatic regulators and connectors.
