Description
N-(2-Cyanoethyl)-N-ethylaniline (CAS 148-87-8) from TCI is a tertiary aromatic amine widely used as a coupling component in dye chemistry. Its electron-rich aniline ring readily couples with diazonium salts to form azo chromophores, while the cyanoethyl group modulates solubility and fibre affinity in disperse dye applications. The donor–acceptor character of the molecule also makes it of interest in optical materials research, and its nitrile group offers further synthetic handles.
