TCI C0587 Amyl Chloroformate (CAS 638-41-5) is a highly reactive alkyl chloroformate used to install carbamate and carbonate functionalities. It is commonly applied to acylate amines and alcohols, to activate carboxylic acids as mixed anhydrides, and to derivatise polar analytes prior to chromatographic analysis. Because chloroformates are moisture sensitive and corrosive, dry glassware, fume-hood handling, and tightly closed containers are essential.
