TCI C1002 2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzonitrile (CAS 668-45-1) is a fluorinated aromatic building block carrying a nitrile flanked by chlorine and fluorine at both ortho positions. The strongly electron-withdrawing cyano group activates the ring so that nucleophiles displace fluorine preferentially, leaving the chlorine available for later palladium-catalysed cross-coupling. The nitrile itself can be hydrolysed, reduced, or cyclised with ortho nucleophiles to reach quinazoline and indazole scaffolds.
