New Fuchsin [for Biochemical Research] from TCI is a basic dye in the triaminotriarylmethane class. It produces a strong magenta-red colour when dissolved. The compound is closely related to pararosaniline and basic fuchsin, but it carries extra methyl groups on its aromatic rings. Histology, microbiology and biochemistry laboratories use new fuchsin to stain cell and tissue structures, and it is also a component of reagents that detect enzyme activity. The "for Biochemical Research" label means the product is prepared specifically for biochemical research work.

New fuchsin is a positively charged basic dye, so it binds readily to acidic cell components such as nucleic acids and some polysaccharides. This property is what makes it an effective stain. One of its best-known uses is in hexazotized form. Here, new fuchsin is converted into a diazonium salt and coupled with naphthol AS substrates in enzyme histochemistry, for example for alkaline phosphatase. The reaction leaves a sharp, insoluble red precipitate exactly where the enzyme is located. The dye is also known in acid-fast staining formulations and in Schiff-type reagents.

In Indonesian laboratories, New Fuchsin [for Biochemical Research] fits the routine and research work of university histology and microbiology departments, hospital and clinical pathology laboratories, and biochemistry research groups. Researchers who need clear red contrast in tissue sections, or who run enzyme histochemistry protocols, can use this TCI reagent as a dependable basic dye. Research teams and teaching laboratories can also use it in staining courses and method development, with consistent quality from an established chemical brand.

  • Histological staining of cells and tissues: as a positively charged basic dye, new fuchsin binds to acidic structures in sections and gives strong magenta-red contrast under the microscope.
  • Enzyme histochemistry for alkaline phosphatase: once hexazotized into a diazonium salt, new fuchsin couples with naphthol AS substrates and forms a sharp, insoluble red precipitate at the enzyme site.
  • Acid-fast staining formulations: new fuchsin is a known dye in acid-fast staining methods, where its strong red colour helps distinguish stained organisms in microbiology work.
  • Schiff-type reagent preparation: its close relationship to pararosaniline and basic fuchsin makes it suitable for Schiff-type reagents, which are used to detect specific chemical groups in biological samples.
  • Staining nucleic acids and acidic polysaccharides: its affinity for negatively charged cell components makes it useful in biochemical research that needs to visualise these components clearly.

  • Grade: for Biochemical Research

Store New Fuchsin [for Biochemical Research] in its original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct light and moisture. Keep it apart from strong oxidising agents and incompatible chemicals, and follow any specific storage conditions on the TCI label. Wear a lab coat, nitrile gloves and safety glasses when handling it, because basic dyes stain skin, clothing and surfaces easily. Weigh the powder carefully so you don't create dust, and prepare solutions in a fume hood or a well-ventilated area. Label all prepared staining solutions clearly with their contents and date. Read the Safety Data Sheet before use, and dispose of waste according to your institution's chemical waste procedures and local regulations.
