Collection: Condensation Organocatalysts

Condensation Organocatalysts — contains fluorinated aryl boronic acids and boroxine derivatives that function as Lewis acid catalysts for condensation reactions, including direct amide bond formation from carboxylic acids and amines. This group also includes sulfonylmethyl-functionalized polystyrene resins as heterogeneous catalysts.

These boronic acid catalysts are used by synthetic organic chemists to accelerate dehydrative condensation reactions such as the formation of amides, esters, and glycosidic bonds without requiring stoichiometric coupling reagents. Boroxine derivatives and piperidyl TEMPO-substituted boronic acids are also used in oxidation and specialized condensation reactions, while the resin form makes catalyst recovery easier in preparative-scale synthesis.
