Collection: Exosome Inhibitors

Exosome Inhibitors — a collection of small molecule compounds from the statin, proton pump inhibitor, and methylated cyclodextrin groups, used as research reagents to modulate the formation or release of exosomes in cell cultures. This group includes various salt forms and stereochemical derivatives of the parent compounds.

Exosome Inhibitors are used by cell biology researchers in studies of extracellular vesicle biogenesis pathways, for example the use of methyl-beta-cyclodextrin to modulate membrane cholesterol content of cells, which affects exosome release in in vitro culture models. Proton pump inhibitor compounds such as omeprazole and pantoprazole are also studied as reagents in research on vesicle secretion mechanisms across various cell lines.
