TCI C0709 3-Nitrobenzyl Chloride, CAS 619-23-8, is a crystalline bifunctional aromatic reagent bearing both a reactive chloromethyl group and a meta-nitro substituent. The chloromethyl group readily benzylates amines, alcohols, thiols, and carbanions, while the nitro group can be reduced to an aniline for further elaboration.
