TCI C1400 4-Nitrophenyl Chloroformate (CAS 7693-46-1) is a widely used activating reagent in peptide chemistry and bioconjugation. It converts alcohols and amines into activated 4-nitrophenyl carbonates or carbamates, in which 4-nitrophenolate serves as an excellent leaving group for subsequent nucleophilic attack. This two-step approach provides controlled access to unsymmetrical carbamates, prodrug linkers, activated PEG derivatives, and immobilised ligands without handling phosgene directly. AMI Scientific offers 25 g and 250 g packs; the reagent is moisture-sensitive and performs best when stored and handled under dry conditions.
