TCI C1544, 1,4-Cyclohexanedione Bis(ethyleneketal) (CAS 183-97-1), is the fully protected form of 1,4-cyclohexanedione, in which both carbonyl groups are masked as cyclic ketals. This protection provides a more stable and easily handled solid, while allowing controlled regeneration of the carbonyl functionality under aqueous acidic conditions. The rigid spiro framework is useful in the construction of substituted cyclohexane scaffolds for pharmaceutical intermediates and functional materials.
