Isocyanate Monomers — covers both aromatic and aliphatic monomeric diisocyanates, which serve as the basic reactive units in forming urethane and urea bonds through reaction with hydroxyl or amine groups. Variations in chain structure and in the position of isocyanate groups affect the stiffness and mechanical properties of the resulting polymer.

Isocyanate Monomers are used in the synthesis of polyurethane resins, elastomers, adhesives, and protective coatings through step-growth polymerization with polyols or polyamines. Polymer researchers also use them as crosslinkers to control network density and the thermomechanical properties of the final product, including in foam and functional coating applications.

Consider the isomer ratio (for example cis-trans mixtures or 2,4-/2,6- isomers) because it affects reactivity and the properties of the final product.
