Collection: Surfactants

Surfactants — contains amphiphilic compounds with hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts in one molecule, including anionic, cationic, zwitterionic, and nonionic classes. Surfactants function to lower surface tension and form micelles in aqueous solutions as well as polymer mixtures.

Surfactants are used by colloid chemistry and biochemistry researchers to solubilize membrane proteins, such as cholate salts and CHAPS in protein solubilization, and as emulsion-forming additives in polymer formulations. Alkyl sulfate and alkylbenzenesulfonate surfactants are also used as model compounds in studies of micelle formation and interfacial behavior.

Choose based on the charge type of the hydrophilic group (anionic, cationic, zwitterionic, or nonionic), the required critical micelle concentration, and the product form as a single compound or mixture. All products are genuine Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan products, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on each item's page.
