Collection: Heterobifunctional Cross-Linkers

Heterobifunctional Cross-Linkers — includes linker molecules with two different reactive groups at each end, such as NHS/sulfo-NHS ester on one side and maleimide on the other, often connected by a cyclohexane spacer or PEG chain. This class enables selective conjugation between two different types of functional groups, for example amines and thiols.

Heterobifunctional Cross-Linkers are used by bioconjugation and protein chemistry researchers to link proteins, peptides, or particles through sequential reactions on amine and sulfhydryl groups, such as preparing protein-hapten conjugates in biochemistry research. Derivatives with PEG spacers and Boc-amino groups are also used to extend the distance between conjugated molecules and to improve solubility in aqueous media during the conjugation process.

Pay attention to the type of reactive groups at both ends (NHS ester, maleimide, sulfo-NHS) according to the target functional groups on the molecules to be linked, as well as the length of the PEG spacer, which affects the distance and solubility of the conjugate.
