Collection: Metabolic Pathways

Metabolic Pathways — includes endogenous metabolites such as fatty acids, sterols, and neutral lipids that act as intermediates in biosynthetic and energy metabolism pathways in organisms. This group connects lipid chemistry with the cellular processes studied in metabolomics.

Metabolic Pathways are used as analytical standards in chromatography (GC/LC-MS) for the identification and quantification of metabolites in biological samples, and as reference materials in lipidomics and metabolomics studies by biochemistry researchers. Compounds such as cholesterol and triglycerides (for example Triolein) are also used in preparing membrane models or calibrating analytical instruments.

Example products in this collection: TCI S0163 57-11-4 Stearic Acid, TCI C0005 50-14-6 Calciferol, TCI L0050 463-40-1 Linolenic Acid, TCI C0318 57-88-5 Cholesterol (stabilized with alpha-Tocopherol), TCI G0089 122-32-7 Triolein, TCI C0321 604-33-1 Cholesterol Linoleate, TCI G0082 111-03-5 Monoolein, TCI C0322 601-34-3 Cholesterol Palmitate.

Choose based on the level of analytical purity, the presence or absence of a stabilizer (for example alpha-Tocopherol in cholesterol), and the physical form suited to your sample preparation needs. All products are genuine Tokyo Chemical Industry (TCI) Japan products, with purity, packaging, and storage conditions listed on each item's page.
